/notsigned because you obviously don't understand how banks work in Real Life.
When you put money into a bank, it doesn't just magically grow. Banks take your money and invest it across low risk deverse fields of the economy. That's why interest rates vary with economic reccessions/boons. The dividends they make then cover your interest. This is done over the long term with large sums so the banks make profit (and thus why your interest rate at a bank will always be less then if you invest the money yourself since the bank is being conservative and can't afford to take hits).
That is how banks go out of buisness during rushes and why the federal government insurses banks through the FDIC. The gov. doesn't want another great depression. When the stock market crashed, not only did people who had money in stocks suffer, but people who had money in banks suffered. Thus why the depression hit so many so hard.
Basically, interest without some sort of investment would be meaningless. Unless the money put into the bank was somehow bet against the value of a commodity like ecto, there would be no way to properly do this. Even then it would be tricky. GW's economy just isn't set up to handle this kind of system. There is no "free money" in the real world, and there shouldn't be in GW.

= Loans to players, which means that people could take money out, and possibly never give it back?
Let's add bankruptcy to GW!

Heh, sure it's the OP who is confused? :P
But yes, suggested before, rich get richer poor get less richer, many obvious and not so obvious cons which outweigh the pros.

Illegal immigrants pay taxes on other people's social security numbers providing income to the federal revenue which they never see or receive. Most illegal and lower class immigrants work jobs US citizens are not experienced or physically capable of working. My father repeatedly finds that resident aliens are far superior in paying attention to what they are doing and doing it right, even if they do not know the language their directions were given in. As opposed to those natively born who will do half the work required putting in a garden bed, and then walk on the plants they just put in the ground on their way back to the truck where they will take a break 2-3 times the legally allowed amount of time.
What has screwed up the domestic product of the US more than anything else is our industry moving overseas to places where they have lower environmental regulation, lower standards of living, and employers are not expected to see their people as anything better than minimally paid cattle. This in conjunction with an over inflated sense of self worth, from decades of wasting resources and not planning for after the party, is the foundation of die-back in the the current US economy.

Sorry /unsigned.
Although it would be fun to have one with rates that occasionally drop through the floor and you lose your whole investment.
